Vinegar is an inexpensive and universal household product. Vinegar can be used for many things around the house. It is a versatile and environmentally friendly product. Vinegar is a great substitute for many cleaning products in the home and often times much safer. Let’s take a look at some of the ways vinegar can be used in your home.

2. Remove Water Rings from Furniture
Did your kids forget to use a coaster? If you have water rings on your coffee table just mix equal parts of vinegar and olive oil. Then using a cloth clean the area using a circular motion. It can also remove water stains from the couch. Just dab the stains with a cloth soaked in vinegar.
3. Extend The Life of Fresh Flowers
You can extend the life of your flowers by placing 2 tablespoons of white vinegar and 2 tablespoons of sugar to the water in your flower vase. Make sure to cut the stems of the flowers first. Repeat this step after the water becomes cloudy.
4. Unclog and Deodorize Drains
Vinegar and baking soda is an effective way to unclog a household drain. Pour 1/2 cup of baking soda followed by 1 cup of vinegar down the clogged drain. Once the foaming dissipates, flush it with hot water. After 5 minutes flush with cold water until the drain is unclogged. This method is less expensive and less toxic than over the counter drain cleaners.
5. Chrome and Stainless Steel Cleaner
Put some vinegar in a spray bottle and lightly spray your chrome and stainless steel. Then buff with a cloth till shiny. This works well with stainless steel appliances and kitchen sinks.

Over time regularly used bathtubs will develop a film or soap scum. Vinegar and baking soda works well to remove it. Sprinkle the tub with baking soda then spray with vinegar. Use a sponge and the baking soda as an astringent to remove the scum. Then rinse with water.
7. Unclog a Shower Head
Is your shower head not spraying at full capacity? It might be clogged. Just soak it overnight in some vinegar. Fill a plastic bag with vinegar and place it around the shower head. Secure it with some rubber bands. The next morning remove the bag and turn on the shower to rinse the head.
8. Trap Fruit Flies
Fruit flies can be annoying and can become a problem if you have fruit in the kitchen. To get rid of them place a small shallow bowl filled halfway full with apple cider vinegar. Then drizzle several drops of dishwashing liquid into the bowl and lightly mix them together. The fruit flies will be attracted to the apple cider vinegar then get coated by the soap and fall into the bowl.
9. Frost Free Car Windows
Are you tired of scraping your car windows in the winter? Vinegar can help. Just use a spray bottle with 3 parts vinegar and 1 part water. Spray the outside of your windows to coat. Apply more as needed.
10. Easy to Peel Hard Boiled Eggs
Adding a teaspoon of salt and 1/4 cup of vinegar to the boiling water of hard-boiled eggs will make them easier to peel. The salt and vinegar help to breakdown the eggshell. Peel and enjoy!
